Route62 is a Japanese independent rock artist creating Adult Youth Rock—music for everyone who believes that life doesn’t stop at sixty.
Rather than looking back with nostalgia, Route62 celebrates the present and the future. These songs are about continuing to grow, embracing new challenges, and finding joy in every stage of life.
Inspired by work, family, friendship, resilience, and everyday experiences, Route62 creates story-driven rock songs that speak to people who are still moving forward, regardless of their age.
The debut EP, Adult Youth Rock from Japan, reflects this philosophy through six original songs, including the lead single “Still Got It.” Combining catchy melodies, classic rock influences, and modern production, the project delivers uplifting music with messages of hope, perseverance, and optimism.
Since its debut, Route62 has been featured by international radio stations, music blogs, magazines, and playlist curators across Europe, North America, and Latin America.
The Story Behind Route62
The creator behind Route62 was born in Japan in 1963 and began his professional career in 1986. For nearly four decades, he has built a career in business and continues to work full-time today.
Music has always been an important part of his life. Growing up, he was inspired by artists such as The Beatles, ABBA, Bay City Rollers, The Carpenters, Bon Jovi, Journey, and Toto. Their songs became the soundtrack of his youth, and their timeless melodies, memorable choruses, and uplifting spirit continue to influence the music he creates today.
Although he loved music deeply, he never imagined becoming a songwriter or recording artist. Like many people, music remained a lifelong passion while work, family, and everyday responsibilities came first.
Everything changed with the arrival of AI.
For the first time, the dream of creating original music became possible. By writing his own lyrics and collaborating with AI as a creative partner, he discovered a new way to express the thoughts, experiences, and emotions gathered over a lifetime.
At the age of 62, Route62 was born.
The songs are not about becoming young again. They are about discovering that it is never too late to begin something new. Every lyric reflects real experiences, everyday life, and the belief that our best chapters may still lie ahead.
